MARINE CITY, MICHIGAN
Historically, Marine City was known as a ship building center of the Great Lakes. Because of this status, many captains, sailors and shipbuilders made their homes here, as evidenced by the grand residential architecture throughout the historic downtown area. Gracious Victorian “Painted Ladies” still sit side by side with turn of the century cottages. With its many antique and gift shops, Marine City has grown into a hot spot for collectors and treasure hunters. Numerous parks are interspersed between unique shopping and dining venues along the historic waterfront and beyond. Live theaters and museums ensure there’s something fun for everyone. Visitors also enjoy a swimming beach, fishing, boating, scuba and amphitheater along the riverfront.
