If you are looking to put some miles down, take a weekend to explore the thumbcoast by venturing 40-miles between Algonac State Park and Lakeport State Park. There are options to camp at both State Parks and turn a one-day trip into two, with numerous small towns and waterfront views to enjoy along the way.
Option to leave a car at each state park and travel one-way for 40-miles, or plan on bikepacking and stay overnight at the state park, taking a roundtrip tour.

The park is located off M-29 and a Recreation Passport is required for entry.
Lakeport State Park – 7605 Lakeshore Road, Lakeport, MI 48059
The park is located off M-25 and a Recreation Passport is required for entry. Trail parking and access is located on the leftside of the entry road after passing the pay booth.
