ALGONAC, MICHIGAN

The first stop coming from the south, Algonac has always been about boating and beautiful waterfront scenes that can be viewed over 1,800 feet of boardwalk. Algonac shares its border with Clay Township and together, these communities are a destination for sportspersons, paddlers and nature lovers. The area is one of the worlds largest fresh water deltas with hundreds of islands including, the charming Harsens Island that can be access by a ferry service. Algonac State Park is located on the north side of town and provides riverside camping perfect for freighter viewing.

From I-94 take exit 243 and head east on 23 Mille Road (M-29) for 18 miles

Algonac Lions Field Park – 1833 Michigan St, Algonac, MI 48001
Access to the parking lot is near the corner of Michigan Street and Dixie Blvd, one block west of M-29. Access the trail by following the Michigan Ave north, about 1/2 a mile where it dead-ends into a shared use pathway. Amenities include drinking fountain, bike repair station and restrooms.

Alternatively, trail parking is available at Algonac State Park but a recreation passport is required for entry. Click here for more details.

Clay Township Park – 4768 Pointe Tremble Rd, Algonac, MI 48001
The Park is located off Point Tremble Road/M-29. There is a small parking lot off Lakepointe Blvd or a larger lot off Taft Road. The Ferry is located 0.7 miles east of the Park. Use the paved shoulder on Point Tremble Road/M-29 to get to the Ferry. Park amenities include playground, splash pad, walking paths, pavilion, recreation areas, concession building and drinking fountain, and restrooms.

Harsens Island: Browne’s Field – 1500 N Channel Drive, Clay Twp, MI 48001
The parking lot is located off Columbine Road. There is a pavilion with sport fields and playground.
